Individual Therapy for Immigrants

Welcoming and mental health abroad

Caring for your emotional health is also part of rebuilding a life abroad

Moving country can broaden your horizons, but it can also bring emotional challenges that aren't always easy to name. Cultural adaptation, distance from your support network, constant worry, the feeling of isolation, and shifts in how you see yourself in the world can make this experience emotionally draining.

Individual therapy offers a safe, welcoming space to understand what you're going through, navigate this process with more emotional clarity, and develop inner resources to build a life with more balance and belonging.

A specialized lens on the immigration experience

Our work considers the emotional, cultural, and identity-related impacts of living between cultures, respecting the uniqueness of each path. Throughout the process, we work on questions such as:

  • Cultural adaptation and difficulty belonging
  • Excessive worry and emotional overload
  • Isolation and distance from your support network
  • Identity conflicts and internal changes
  • Experiences of prejudice or discrimination
  • Emotional challenges tied to building a life abroad

FAQ

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

We talk before the first session to understand what you're going through and point you to the best path — individual therapy, a therapy group, or consulting.

  • Are sessions recorded?

No. Sessions are not recorded. Everything you share is confidential and protected by the Brazilian Federal Council of Psychology code of ethics.

  • How often should I have sessions?

Weekly is most common. We'll figure out together what makes sense for your moment.

  • Do you only see Brazilians abroad?

We see Brazilians who live outside Brazil — in any country, in Portuguese.

  • How do I know whether individual or group therapy is right for me?

The two formats complement each other. In our intro call we'll help you decide which one fits best now.

  • Do you work in other languages?

We work in Brazilian Portuguese. The whole therapy happens in your mother tongue.
